Voca Timer Privacy Policy

VocaTimer is a voice-first timer app. We collect only the minimum data needed to run the app, improve stability, and understand usage. We do not collect names, email addresses, or other direct identifiers.

1. Data We Do NOT Collect

No names, email addresses, phone numbers, or account profiles.
No voice content is uploaded; all recordings stay on your device.

2. Data We Process (with Opt-Out)

Enabled by default; you can disable in the app Settings ("Share anonymous usage data"). When disabled, collection stops and the Analytics instance ID is reset.

Crash reports: via Firebase Crashlytics.
Performance data: startup, rendering, network metrics via Firebase Performance.
Usage analytics: aggregated events (e.g., timer created, alarm stopped) via Google Analytics for Firebase.
Device/app identifiers: app instance IDs generated by Google Play Services for analytics/diagnostics (no direct PII).

3. Local-Only Data

The following stays on your device and is not transmitted:

Voice recordings (.m4a) and imported sounds.
Timer presets, history, and local settings.

4. Permissions

Microphone: to record voice notes for alarms (stored locally only).
Notifications/alarms: to deliver timers and alerts.
Exact alarms (Android 12+): to schedule precise alarms as a fail-safe.
Storage/files (optional): to save recordings or imported sounds.

Permissions are used only for core functionality.

5. Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. VocaTimer does not receive or store your payment details.

6. Data Sharing

Analytics/diagnostics and billing metadata are shared with Google (Firebase, Google Play Services, Google Play Billing) to operate these services. Voice recordings are not shared.

We do not sell data. No targeted ads.

7. Security & Retention

Telemetry uses encrypted transport provided by Google Play Services.
Retention follows Firebase defaults. You can opt out at any time; the Analytics instance ID is reset on opt-out.

8. Children

VocaTimer is not directed to children. Do not use the app if you are under the minimum age required by local law.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
